Life is good - in Zitsa
After a ferry to the mainland we set off.
With nice weather Tuesday we enjoyed a paved route through some small villages.
For our first camping night we found an open pasture near a river (bathing after a day biking is always nice!) and Bryan cooked a tasty dinner.
Wednesday we continued climbing east on another beautiful day. As we found a market in a somewhat bigger village we heard, "do you speak English" in an American voice. Anna's lived here 11 years and invited us to stay. Her husband Kostas is the town baker and an excellent one.
We're seeing snow-covered mountains to the north, east and south, but not clearly due to dust blown up from the Sahara. The air may not be clear, but it's perfumed by the spring flowers.
It's so fun to see your photos and hear about the trip. Sounds like a grand adventure!
ReplyDeleteThe town baker! Way cool.
