Planes, trains and automobiles - Not!

R & R accomplished, we took an overnight bus to Manila (not horrible - I actually got some sleep, no blaring TV or music, no smoking) and spent the day doing errands, trying new fruit and a little sightseeing.
Macabre monument to national independence hero José Rizal.
Passionfruit, chexa, dragon fruit.
Folklore sculpture from water dispenser bottles.
And then we boarded the ferry to Dumaguete.
About the only enjoyable part of this 27-hour leg was seeing islands from the sea.
In Manila I'd had a tube blowout.  Upon inspection in Dumaguete I found a badly cracked rim and gulped hard.  Fortunately Joey the mechanic found a replacement (after two shops telling me they didn't have one and being sceptical that anyone would), took it off a new wheel and rebuilt mine with it, all for $3.25 for labor cost.  Salamat Po!
Yay!
After a very good Korean lunch we rode south to begin our snorkeling adventures.  We're heading for Apo Island with it's marine sanctuary and hopefully healthy coral.  The travel and bike problem-solving was tiring so early to bed tonight.
